Description
I love this graceful grove of aspens in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado. Curved trees such as this indicate either past avalanche activity or soil instability that caused these aspen to keep trying to correct direction of growth over the years. The smooth parallel curves are so mesmerizing and almost bring to mind humans in motion. "Dryads" are mythical female woodland nymphs who live in the trees, and I think we just happened to catch them dancing this day when they thought nobody was watching!
